We often receive criticism for not allowing all kittens and cats to be rehomed with dogs generically.<\/p>
We are very lucky in our charity to have 4 fosterers who have dogs. We assess the kittens who live with these fosterers and their dogs. If they are happy to live\/go with a dog. About 70% do then be rehomed with a dog.<\/p>
These 4 fosterers also have children and we can also test the kittens for being able to live with children. Not all can, they prefer a dog to a child in some cases.<\/p>
Not all of the kittens like the dogs and we will not put them through unnecessary stress by rehoming them with a dog just because 'my dogs friendly' if the kittens petrified it will not work out.<\/p>
However, again we are seeing issues with these kittens being turned down. Kittens who can go with a dog, but are rejected simply because they are the wrong colour.<\/p>
We are not a shop.<\/p>
We understand people want to have a cat\/kitten that they adore and love.<\/p>
If we have kittens and they are dog friendly and child friendly but are black or black and white. They are being turned down.<\/p>
We really cannot do anything more<\/p>
The homing team work very hard as volunteers around their home\/family\/work commitments<\/p>
